General Expectations
Westminster Academy seeks teachers who are passionate about God, children and Classical Christian education, who desire to nourish the souls of students in a challenging academic environment.
Applicants should have a deep and abiding passion for Jesus Christ as He is revealed in all that is true, good and beautiful in Scripture and in each and every subject. The applicant should value the role “education” can fulfill as God’s tool to awaken hearts and minds to His attributes and character. Teachers should have the ability to model and transfer that passion to students through formal and informal instruction.
Because Westminster Academy is committed to the historic reformed faith, prospective teachers should be able to articulate their understanding of its foundational tenets and their adherence to it.
Priority will be given to those applicants who are able to articulate a meaningful and purposeful philosophy of teaching within a Classical Christian pedagogy. Our aspiration is to graduate students who think rightly and who love that which is worth loving.
