One might think this was said by a student at Westminster Academy, but it is an often heard statement from Westminster parents!

What type of education would lead a parent (it’s been heard from parents of kindergarteners to the twelfth grade) to make such a comment? It is an education that understands that the transcendent norms of truth, goodness, beauty, and wisdom are meant to be at the very core of developing the mind, body, and souls of children!

Engaging students over various materials and curriculum has as much to do with instilling in them a sense of what is right and good and true as it does with having them learn the material. In fact, the material itself, the courses, books, and classroom time should provide opportunities to cultivate these values in each and every student. Education was meant to nourish the soul, to instill and to ignite a love of learning, and to develop an appreciation and love for that which is worth loving.
