A Day In Kindergarten
Please note that Westminster Academy's formal Kindergarten and 1st Grade academic programs are 8:00 a.m. until noon.
Begun in the fall of 2010, we offer an optional noon to 3:00 p.m. Westminster Academy Extended-Day( Enrichment WEE) program for families for whom this option is beneficial. There will be an additional charge for the program.
Steps To Apply
- Schedule a parent interview – both parents are strongly encouraged to participate–by calling (901) 380-9192. Please inform the office in advance if both parents cannot attend.
- Complete an application and return with a nonrefundable $75 fee. Application and payment must be received before child is evaluated.
- In January, schedule group and individual testing.
- All prospective kindergartners will be required to participate in a short group observation on either January 18 or January 19, 2011. In addition, prospective kindergartners will receive individualized testing that will occur the same day. Arrangements for these will be made in January for all prospective kindergartners for whom an application and payment has been received.
- A teacher evaluation is not required for students applying for Kindergarten. It is possible that additional testing may be required. Cost for such testing will be at the parents’ expense.
