Memphis Learn & Serve: Cancelled
When God commanded Adam to subdue the earth in Genesis 1-2, he was giving mankind a mandate to steward all of creation. The first relationships established in the garden were between man and God, man and man, and man and creation. We have a responsibility to each and, in this camp, campers will use the lens of relationship and stewardship to view the needs of their city and their role in serving the city. Using Genesis 1-2 as a starting point, campers will read and study the needs of Memphis, discussing together what Scripture says should be the response of believers. Campers will see in person how a variety of ministries serve Memphis, visiting ministries like the Humane Society and World Vision. Guest speakers will address campers and share their role in leading others to serve our city. Campers will have the opportunity to examine their own hearts and vocation, to begin asking what ministry role God has called them to. Campers will receive a copy of When Helping Hurts; lunches for the week are included.
Field Trip Policy
Field trips provide an excellent learning opportunity to see real life applications. They are an integral part of many of Westminster Academy summer camps.
By registering for the camp, parents are giving permission for the child to ride in school-provided transportation. This also authorizes medical treatment to be given to the student in case of injury.
All students must comply with the July 1, 2004 Tennessee Child Restraint Law when attending a field trip. For all ages a seat belt is required for every passenger.
The behavioral standards that apply to campers on campus also apply to participants in field trips.
