Led by WA Upper School Faculty, Mrs. Jannica Gregory, Mrs. Maylon Jones, and Mrs. Mary Read

Westminster Academy students have the highest combined ACT scores of any co-ed school in the Memphis area. Part of that success is due to the ACT prep training of our math and science departments. This team of experts has mined the ACT for its secrets, patterns, and tricks; they are ready to help students discover the best strategies for tackling the test. On the last day of camp, students will take a full practice test and will receive it back graded with individualized materials for further study.

Camps are divided by age, gender, and/or skill level and will focus on the fundamentals of each sport. Coaches are all Westminster-affiliated, creating a seamless transition from summer camps into school-year athletics programs. Daily devotions will draw from the many scriptures that utilize the analogy of the athlete and how character is built through trials.

Camp practice will incorporate both individual “skills and drills” practice and team scrimmage play.

Led by WA Grammar School Music Teacher, Mrs. Elaine Clowers

Disney's Aladdin Kids! - In Intro to Musical Theater Camp you will join Mrs. Clowers to learn the basics of stage movement, choreography, set design, group singing, costume design, lighting, and prop management, with a classic musical. There are roles big and small to give campers of all levels of theater experience a chance to hone their skills. Campers will also work on creating set pieces and props. Bring a lunch each day. Rising 2nd-9th graders are welcome.

Our two-week musical intensive will culminate in a show for family and friends. Join us on July 29 at 2:00 p.m.

WA Athletics Director, Mr. Kenny Shackelford and WA Physical Education Teacher and Coach, Mrs. Stephanie Chester will chaperone the trip.

Come and join us for an exciting adventure in East Tennessee!  We will experience God’s creation up close as we share activities together, applying scripture to what we learn about the outdoors and each other, shaping character as we face challenges and sometimes fearful opportunities.  Activities will include the following: high ropes course, caving in a wild cave, rappelling, paddling training, zip-lining, a Duckie (inflatable kayak) trip down the Upper Hiwassee, and white water rafting on the middle section of the Ocoee River.

Cost: $775 (includes transportation, activities, and most food)

Location: Camp Lookout in Lookout Mountain, TN and Gee Creek Campground in Reliance, TN

Campers will need the following:

  • Clothes
  • Personal toiletries
  • Sleeping bag
  • Sack lunch for the 1st day
  • $$ for one dinner and food on the return trip

Field Trip Policy

  • Field trips provide an excellent learning opportunity to see real life applications. They are an integral part of many of Westminster Academy summer camps.
  • By registering for the camp, parents are giving permission for the child to ride in school-provided transportation. This also authorizes medical treatment to be given to the student in case of injury.
  • All students must comply with the July 1, 2004 Tennessee Child Restraint Law when attending a field trip. For all ages, a seat belt is required for every passenger.
  • The behavioral standards that apply to campers on campus also apply to participants in field trips.
